Presentation is everything
School committee meetings are on television
You have to project your voice
Sometimes spur of the moment things are fun
Meetings can be scary
You always need to speak clearly
Speeches can be easier than you think

Day 126 A Lesson Learned in the Merrimack College Think Tank

Who do you want packing your parachute?
During today's session, I was able to work with a small group of educators to make a decision about grading. We participated in a classic case study in which we were charged to  make a critical decision looking at students’ traditional scores earned while they attended parachute school. This activity required us to draw parallels from parachute school grades to the typical grades in a teacher’s grade book. A very thought provoking activity to say the least!

Day 127- Finish Strong & Believe in yourself!

Please see below- Here is an example of a student learning a great life lesson:

One of my students gave himself some very good words of wisdom this morning.  The student  was completing a math mad minute.  When he was done, I checked his work.  When he realized that he got all 30 multiplication problems correct.  He proudly announced:

"I just believed in myself!"

I learned today that when you believe in yourself you can make it happen.

Believe in yourself!
